From November 30th to December 2nd: Sitges Christmas Festival

Christmas crafts fair is where exhibitors present all kinds of products – finished or DIY – designed to give in these holidays

From December 14th to 16th: Winter Market Sitges

By the hand of Sitges Style and the Department of Tourism of Sitges. The Winter Market Sitges 2018 will take place for the third consecutive year (the first edition was not in the frigate). The common bond is that everything must be made by hand.

 

January 5: Kings Parade

The Night of the Three Kings is a special night everywhere, and in Sitges it can not be less! On January 3rd comes the Royal Postman of your majesty. The Magi is who begins to collect the letters of the most farsighted. On January 5th comes the great procession of kings that walks through the streets of Sitges to greet the children and collect the letters of those who have waited until the last moment or want to deliver the letter personally to their favorite Wizard King.

Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar premiere floats and costumes inspired by the respective places of origin of the Kings. Their Majesties will distribute more than 600 kilograms of gluten-free sweets, among candies, lollipops and charcoal. A hundred people participate in the Three Kings Parade in Sitges, which begins at six in the evening at the Miramar Cultural Center.

January 14th: Sitges Half Marathon

For the past 35 years, the city of Sitges has welcomed the new year with a competition that is undoubtedly a mandatory appointment on the sports calendar for all those who specialize in long distance races.

The Half Marathon of Sitges is part of the Half Marathon Challenge Grand Prix Diputación de Barcelona called Aqueta Challenge, all these races have been approved by the Catalan Athletics Federation. Regularly this competition takes place in the middle of January.

From 8th to 14th February: Carnival. Ruas: Sunday 11th and Tuesday 13th

Carnival celebration begins with the arrival of His Majesty Carnestoltes and his critical discourse of public life at the time. The strong points of the carnival are the parades or streets that are celebrated on Sunday (Rua de la Disbauxa) and on Tuesday (Rua de l’Extermini). The streets are opened by S.M.Carnestoltes and closed by the Carnival Queen who has been elected by popular vote and changed every year.

Ash Wednesday ends with the burial of the sardine and a funeral procession where the testament of S.M.Carnestoltes is read. It is a festivity full of color and recognized worldwide. Annually has 150,000 spectators Rua de la Disbauxa and 250,000 that of Tuesday night.
