Many people want to visit the small town of Sitges during their holidays in Barcelona, this coastal village south of the Catalan capital is a real treasure. Here we give you all the information on how to get from Barcelona to Sitges, by train from Sants, by taxi from the centre or by bus from the airport.

Sitges is a coastal town south of the Catalan capital, known for its film festival, Mediterranean beaches and promenade. Unlike Barcelona, this town is attractive for its tranquillity, its seaside restaurants and its centre with cobbled streets. Summer is the perfect time to visit the city and enjoy its many beaches.

To get here from Barcelona: nothing could be easier.

You can take the C2 train from 3 different stations in Barcelona: Estació de França, Passeig de Gràcia and Estació Sants, which will drop you off in the centre of Sitges. The journey can take between 45 and 30 minutes, depending on which station you take the train from.

You can buy your train tickets directly at the station, at the ticket offices or from the vending machines. The cost of a return ticket per person is €7.20. Don’t worry about timetables, trains pass through the station every 20 minutes. The first train from Barcelona leaves just before 7am and the last train to Sitges leaves just before 7pm.

Finally, there are many buses that take you from Barcelona to Sitges, from Plaça Espanya and from Ronda Universitat. The journey takes less than an hour. The bus passes through Barcelona airport.
Therefore, if you are staying in Sitges and arrive at the airport, it is easy to take the bus. The bus company is called “Bus Garraf” and the fare is 4,50€. The bus can be a very good option if you want to go to Sitges directly from the airport.

If you don’t want to take the train or bus and you have a lot to do, don’t hesitate to use Barcelona taxis. Easy to recognise by their colour, they will drop you off in the centre of Sitges in 40 minutes. They are available all over town and at all hours. The average taxi fare is 75 euros.

Buses run once or twice an hour and are also available at night. They also operate on Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, the night buses do not pass through Barcelona airport, but go directly from Plaça Catalunya to Sitges.
