A family and artisanal wine in the Penedes
Torre del Veguer Winery
Located in San Pere de Ribes, this winery, classified as a historical-artistic monument by the Generalitat de Catalunya, offers a wide variety of white wines.
It is possible to visit the estate to discover these wineries located in an exceptional setting. You can visit the cellar with the process of making their sparkling wine, and taste two of these wines. This family-run business produces 100% organic wines of the highest quality.
You can’t leave the region without visiting this estate, surely one of the most impressive and historic in the region.
Mascaró
In a completely different style, in the centre of Vilafranca del Penedés, you will find this building, with its flowery façade, dating from 1912.
Come and discover the history of this family and its wine cellars, offering unique and surprising products. The family has been dedicated to the creation of high quality distillates, cavas and wines for three generations. Visits are by appointment only and will allow you to taste the different types of wine and cavas they produce.
Torelló
In the municipality of Gelida, you will find this estate belonging to the Torelló family. This family business, which has been producing wine for many generations, has 5,500m2 of cellars, which house wines of the highest quality and vineyards.
This winery opens its doors once a month to visitors and shows you the winery, their wine cellar and tells you the family history of the winery since 1935. This visit lasts 2 hours and the hosts will explain to you everything you need to know about the elaboration of their wine, within their vineyard and their cellars. You will also be treated to a tasting of two glasses of wine or cava. The cost of this tour per person (adult) is 15€.
Parés Baltà
This Parés Balta winery is located 1 hour from Barcelona, in the municipality of Pachs del Panadés.
It is a family business that produces wine with a predominantly organic and biodynamic culture. It is a family where the oldest and the youngest work. With different soils, this family obtains wines with unique characters. Some of the marine fossil soils allow the production of wines with a saline character and a great capacity for ageing.
The visit includes a presentation of the winery, a tour of the vineyards with an introduction to biodynamic agriculture, a visit to the barrel room and finally a tasting of the wines from the vineyard. The estate offers different price ranges for the visits: depending on what you want to discover and the wines you want to taste. You can expect to pay between €26 and €55 to visit this exceptional estate.
