The paseo maritimo of Sitges is one of the great emblems of the city, almost 3 kilometres long, it covers the entire coastline from the historic centre of the city to La Laguna de Riera de Ribes.
It is a walk characterised by its contrasts and the incredible combination of landscapes. It has a much more historical and monumental part, where the parish church of Sant Bartolomeu i Santa Tecla stands out. You cannot leave the city without visiting this Catalan Baroque building, located on the edge of the sea. Also of note is the staircase right in front of it, one of people’s favourite places to take photos. As you continue along the paseo, you can enjoy the beautiful Art Nouveau façades of the buildings in the old quarter, which used to belong to sailors.
On the other side of the paseo maritimo you will find the famous beaches of Sitges. Playa de la Fragata is a small beach located at the foot of the parish church, then you’ll also find Playa de la Ribera, Playa del Estanyol, Playa de la Barra,… If there is one thing that stands out from the seafront of Sitges, it is the large number of beaches that you can find along this Mediterranean coast.
Water activities in Sitges
One of the city’s tourist attractions is also its water activities. Whether you are more adventurous or prefer something more relaxed, in Sitges you will be able to find the activity that best suits your tastes. From the possibility of renting a kayak or a water board to enjoy a few hours of peace and quiet in the Mediterranean Sea, to the option of renting a jet ski or a water banana, to have a good time with your friends.
If you like adventure, you can even enjoy a parasailing trip, a parachute attached to a speedboat that will make you fly!
