Beaches on the Costa Dorada: a real discovery

Summer is getting closer and closer and with it, the desire for beach, sun and sea. What we like most in summer is to discover the most beautiful beaches around us, especially if they are located on the Costa Dorada in Catalonia.

In this post, we present you the most beautiful beach that you can find on the Costa Dorada. From Sitges to Tarragona.

Starting with the area closest to the city of Barcelona, we find Calafell, a coastal town very close to Sitges and very pleasant for a short holiday. We also have villas available for rent in Calafell, which you can see here.

The beach of Calafell in Costa Dorada is ideal for families and children. Especially for children it is a very recommendable beach as it is one of those that does not cover much, so they can enjoy a lot. It is very wide so you can walk along the shore and the water is very clean. It also has toilets and showers that are accessible to everyone and very clean.

It also has a beautiful promenade where you can stroll peacefully and there are many restaurants and beach bars where you can have a drink or even eat. On this beach you won’t find a car park, but it is easy to park in the streets near the beach.

Going down to El Vendrell, an area near Sitges with quite nice beaches, we will talk mainly about the beach of Francàs.
This beach is located very close to the town of Roda de Barà and a few metres from the marina. It is a beach of fine sand and as it enters the sea it slopes gently, which makes it very easy to travel with children to this marvellous beach.

On the beach you will find lifeguard and first aid posts, all under control for any emergency. It is also a beach accessible for people with reduced mobility, with showers and a sun lounger and sunshade rental service. This beach is very busy during the summer months, which is why during this time of year leisure activities are organised for children and others such as gymnastics or tai chi sessions (held in the afternoons).
To park, you just have to go to the streets that open up between the urbanisations and you can get to the beach from the subways.

Arriving at Roda de Bará, a charming village in the heart of the Costa Dorada. We find very beautiful beaches, among them Platja de la Pallisseta.
This beach is located between the breakwater of the new marina and Roc de Sant Gaietà, a very Mediterranean coastal urbanization that is worth seeing. It is perfect for families, as the waters are normally very calm. The beach has all the necessary services to have a good time on this beach: lifeguard, beach umbrella rental, showers and even a beach bar. And especially for children to have a great time, this beach has inflatables and trampolines.
